GorillaDesk is field service software built specifically for recurring, route-based businesses: pest control, lawn care, and pool service. It handles scheduling, routing, invoicing, automated email and SMS reminders, chemical and material tracking, and payments in one place, with a mobile app that lets a technician run their whole day from a phone (clock in, view the job, capture photos, take payment, send the invoice).

Unlike broad field-service platforms such as ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro, GorillaDesk is narrow on purpose. It is organized around service agreements and repeat visits rather than one-off dispatched calls, and its pesticide tracking is FIFRA-oriented and baked into the job workflow. That focus is its main differentiator: it is less bloated and closer to how a pest or lawn route operator actually works, at the cost of being a poor fit for trades outside that lane.

Who GorillaDesk is for

GorillaDesk fits small to mid-size pest control, lawn care, and pool service companies that run recurring routes and want scheduling, billing, and reminders in one tool without heavy setup. Solo operators and shops up to roughly a dozen or so routes get the most value. It is a poor fit for HVAC, plumbing, or general contractors, and for anyone running multiple unrelated trades under one roof. Larger multi-location operations that need deep business intelligence or 20-plus technicians tend to outgrow it.

Strengths and limitations

What it does well

  • Pricing is per route, not per user, and includes unlimited office staff, admins, and devices, so dispatchers and back-office seats never add to the bill.
  • The mobile app lets a tech complete the full visit from a phone: job details, photos, chemical logging, payment collection, and invoicing on site.
  • Pesticide and chemical tracking is FIFRA-oriented and built into the job workflow rather than bolted on, which matters for pest control compliance.
  • Automation for recurring billing, appointment reminders, and review requests runs on service agreements, which suits repeat-visit route businesses.
  • Reviewers consistently praise the customer support as responsive and genuinely helpful.
  • Month-to-month plans with no setup fees or long-term contracts lower the risk of trying it.

Where it falls short

  • It is purpose-built for pest, lawn, and pool. Reviewers note it will not serve you if you run HVAC, plumbing, or other trades alongside, and it will not grow with you if you expand beyond those niches.
  • Routing does not account for real-time traffic, and when a tech calls out sick you rebalance the day's schedule manually rather than having the system re-optimize.
  • Reporting and analytics are basic and not suited to multi-location operations that need real business intelligence.
  • Invoicing is built for fixed-price, per-service billing. Companies that bill hourly or on a time-and-materials basis struggle with the workflow.
  • SMS is a paid add-on (about $5/month for a number plus text credit packages) on top of the plan price.

GorillaDesk pricing

GorillaDesk publishes three plans, priced per route (a technician's schedule) rather than per user: Basic at $49/route/month, Pro at $99/route/month, and Growth at $149/route/month, with a discount for annual billing. Basic covers scheduling, invoicing, estimates, work orders, basic routing (25-stop cap), Square/Stripe payments, and automated email/SMS. Pro adds the customer portal, online booking, subscription billing, advanced route optimization, QuickBooks Online sync, Zapier, and API access. Growth adds map-based estimating, a sales pipeline, custom fields, and multi-branch support. There are no setup fees or contracts. SMS is an add-on: about $5/month plus text-credit packages (for example $50 for 1,000 texts).

Verdict

If you run a pest control, lawn care, or pool service business with recurring routes and want an affordable, easy tool that bills per route instead of per seat, GorillaDesk is one of the best-fit options available. Look elsewhere if you run HVAC, plumbing, or mixed trades, bill hourly, or need multi-location reporting and enterprise-grade routing.
